Dear Amy, I'm so sorry your application for the art exhibit was rejected. Of course, you are not the only artist (in whatever medium) who has faced rejection before succeeding. Here is a link to information about six hugely famous and successful authors who once faced rejection, although you probably already know about their struggles:
Susan Rogers, Thanks so much for answering Amy Nemirow.
"Imposter syndrome" is not something one can help. That line in Ms. Nemirow's posting stopped me. I had the experience of "imposter syndrome" in my own career, and yet made highest grade in civil service in the Navy. My clients loved my work, because it smoothed paths for their funding.
I don't live near Philadelphia, but the work Ms. Nemirow shows in her posting is quite beautiful and makes me reflective.
And I like that she "is not too old for pink hair" and "supports supporters of PA ID/A". I like that a lot.
Rejection can be the most soul-crushing feeling, and I say this as someone whose been rejected so much that it has become the norm. But take it from me, where there is rejection, there is opportunity, it all depends on what your outlook is like. Thank you for sharing and I hope you are doing fine now.
Susan, yes I definitely do need your encouragement and am grateful to have it! And happy to be in the company of all those famous people π
I saw the piece about the Frenchies in Vanity Fair, isnβt it all so ridiculous?? We love our girls.
Thanks for supporting my writing as well as my jewelry!!

Also, while I'm sharing links, here's a story in Vanity Fair about French bulldogs, which you may enjoy (although it's about show dogs):

You are very talented, and there are many (including me) who love your jewelry! I know you don't need my encouragement, but you have it anyway!
